Daniel Carl Tidcomb, 49, passed away suddenly, March 7, 2023, at his home in Gallatin, Tennessee.
Dan was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, on November 26, 1973, the son of the Dean A. and the Reverend Andrea Titcomb of Riva, Maryland. He graduated from South River High School, Edgewater, MD, Class of 1992. Following his graduation from the Broadcasting Institute of Maryland, Baltimore, Dan worked part time as a disc jockey in the Baltimore area. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications, with a specialization in the Recording Industry, from Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, TN in 2001.
After only two weeks as a college intern, with Progressive Global Agency, Nashville, Dan was hired, and had a successful ten-year career there, as a talent agent. He was involved with booking bands such as R.E.M., Widespread Panic, and the Wailers. He also owned his own music business, the Silk Agency, for two years.
Following Dan’s marriage in 2011, to Dr. Gina Mendoza, a podiatrist in Hendersonville, TN, he was employed as the Executive Director of Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center, Hendersonville. A lover of music and art, Dan brought many musicians and artists to Monthaven for community events. Dan was nominated for the Governor’s Leadership Award in 2014 and 2017. He was currently employed by the Tennessee Central Economic Authority and was a certified economic developer who worked to retain, expand, and recruit jobs to Middle Tennessee.
A valuable asset to his community, Dan was a lacrosse and soccer official for six years, and coached basketball. He was a member of the Rotary, was active in Toastmasters, and was a volunteer at the local SPCA. Dan attended NorthField Church and was a member of the men’s weekly discussion group.
In addition to his love of music, art, sports, and animals, Dan enjoyed snowboarding and skiing with his family, hiking, and reading. Most of all, he loved spending time with his two precious children. He was a devoted father who instructed them in sports, encouraged their creativity, and taught them to be kind and loving.
Dan leaves his wife, Gina, of 12 years and two children, Dashiel and Anika, of Gallatin; his parents, Dean and Andrea Titcomb, Riva, MD; his brother, Brady, sister-in-law, Joanne, and niece, Quinn Titcomb, of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
