Dana Mckenney

Dana Joseph McKenney of Hendersonville TN passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on October 5, 2016, following a period of declining health.

Dana was born to Laura Genevieve (McDermott), and James Anslie McKenney on March 15, 1937 in Brockton Ma.

Dana married Anne M. Williams on November 22, 1958. They lived in West Newton Massachusetts where Dana worked in the field of education as a guidance counselor for many years. Dana & Anne moved from Massachusetts to Plymouth N H and he was employed as Vice Principal at the Plymouth Area High school from 1979 to 1992. He later moved to New Ipswich NH where he was employed as Principal at Mascenic Regional High School. He retired to Tennessee to be near children who had relocated there.

Dana was very active with his children in scouting, did outdoor adventuring with youth groups. His hobbies included woodworking, furniture making and repair. He loved fishing, camping and spending time with his family.

Dana is preceded in death by Anne M. McKenney who passed away February 14, 2015, and a daughter, Annemarie who passed away as a child.

Dana is survived by brother James Lee McKenney, and sister Jane Ryder, children, Elizabeth, William (Valerie), Margaret (Brian), Steven and John (Ann), 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
