Curtis "Curt" Werner- age 68 of Cottontown passed away January 8, 2016.

As a young man he served our country proudly in the Navy during the Vietnam War. Curt also had a passion for music and was a very talented drummer. He was retired from the Grand Ole Opry and had the privilege of playing with some of the greatest talent in Country Music; Johnny Russell, Jean Shepard, Connie Smith, Tom. T. Hall, Marty Stuart, Ricky Van Shelton, and Travis LeDoyt just to name a few.

He was also a man of faith and was a devoted member of Jesus Reigns Fellowship. Curt will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Lisa Werner; sister, Charlotte Streed and father, Chuck Werner;

He is survived by his mother, Mary Werner; daughters, Jessie Beckett (Mark) and Faith Gaskin (Robert); grandchildren, Chazity Perdue (Adam), Carley Gaskin; great-grandchildren, Landon, Liam and Tucker Perdue; brothers, James and Charles Werner; numerous extended family members.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 1pm at Jesus Reigns Fellowship (396 Pee Dee Branch Rd Cottontown TN 37048) with Chet Murrell and Sheldon Streed officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Jesus Reigns Fellowship in honor of Curt Werner.
