Cleland W. Smith Jr. age 92 of Hendersonville, TN passed away on Tuesday April 7th 2020.

The family will be holding a celebration of life service for Cleland at First Baptist Church in Hendersonville on Friday July 10th, 2020 at 4:00PM. The family will receive visitors at the church from 3:00PM until service time. Dr. Bruce Chesser & Dr. Kevin Minchey will officiate the service.

Cleland was a very loving and encouraging father who always took wonderful care of his family. He was a faithful member of First Baptist church in Hendersonville for 48 years where he served as a deacon. He was an accountant at NES for 36 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents Cleland W. Smith & Bessie Smith as well as his brother Tom Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Wendle Smith. His son Steve W. & (Angela) Smith and daughter Laura & (Kevin) Minchey. Grand-daughter Anna & (Drake) Denning as well as numerous nieces & nephews.

Cleland was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude and thankfulness for the services provided by Avalon Hospice in Hendersonville and all the caregivers involved. They were a true blessing during this time.

Memorial contributions in honor of Cleland can be made to the Backpack Ministry at First Baptist Church in Hendersonville.
