Christopher J. “Chris” Vanderheyden, age 45, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2023. Chris was born on June 18, 1977, in Gallatin, Tennessee, to Carl and Martha (Culver) Vanderheyden, and grew up in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Chris was a loving and lovable person who enjoyed video games, all things Star Wars, and was an insatiable and trash-talking fan of NFL quarterback Tom Brady. He loved travelling to the mountains of East Tennessee. Chris had a great sense of humor and a playful spirit. He never met a stranger, and loved to use movie quotes to generate conversation and laughter with his family and friends. He worked for over 20 years as a security guard for Securitas and predecessor companies contracted with Dell computers. Chris will be dearly missed.
Chris is preceded in death by his father Carl Vanderheyden. He is survived by his loving wife Keely (Gordon) Vanderheyden; mother Martha Vanderheyden; sisters Georgia Rittenberry and Leslie Ackerman; brother Bobby Vanderheyden; his father- and mother-in-law Wayne and Melanie Gordon; brother-in-law Daniel Gordon; as well as 8 nieces and nephews, 8 great nieces and nephews, and those who knew him best.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, from 2pm-6pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will begin at 6pm in the Chapel at the funeral home.
