Christopher Mark Nikazy "Chris", 51, of Bethpage, TN, passed away in Bowling Green, KY, on Saturday, May 20, 2017. Preceded in death by his grandparents: Edward & Vera Nikazy and David & Maggie Hart, along with many aunts and uncles.
Chris is survived by his children: Christopher Nicholas Nikazy, Carter Alex Nikazy and Mason Luke Nikazy, fiance' Kathy Rivers, parents: Lt. Col. Eddie & Peggy Nikazy, brother, Chad (Karen) Nikazy, sisters: Lisa (Don) Crawford and Lora (Rick) Lisk. Chris is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Chris will be missed by his dogs: Dixie, Steve, Mikey.
Chris was born July 23, 1965 and is an 8th generation Tennessean. He graduated from North Clayton H.S. in Georgia. He excelled at playing football, wrestling and soccer. He enjoyed listening to country and rock music. He worked at the Corvette assembly plant in Bowling Green and was a member of the United Auto Workers. Chris was an excellent metal fabricator and skilled in auto repair. He was a bird dog trainer and cherished his time hunting and fishing with his boys and his father. Chris also claimed to be the champion cornhole player of the Nikazy family. A unique fact about Chris was that he was the only American allowed to be a member of the Gilles in Belgium. Chris was larger than life and was all about "compliments and kindness".
A celebration of life service for Chris will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 1pm, officiated by Pastor Doug Varnado. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24th from 4p-8p and again, one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Burial will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
