Charles Dennis Tidwell passed away on February 27, 2018, at the age of 98. A graduate of David Lipscomb College, in Nashville, Tennessee, he spent his life preaching the gospel for many Churches of Christ around the southeast. He loved working on vintage Volkswagens, gardening, and building grandfather clocks. He was, truly, adored by so many and will be missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Tidwell and Fanny Jo Totty Tidwell, his wife Buel Ward Tidwell, a brother, Newell Ray Tidwell, a son Leonard Ward Tidwell, granddaughters, Laura Marie Johnson, and Kellie Faith Tidwell. Survived by his son, Mike Tidwell (Wanda), daughter, Charlene Johnson (Ken), grandchildren: Elizabeth Grace Tidwell, Christopher Thomas Tidwell, Cindy Hope Mayes, Will Tyler (Joslin) Tidwell, Jason Mitchell (Allison) Johnson, Karen Johnson (Allen) Massey, 9 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service for Charles will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, officiated by Bro. Charles Williams and Bro. Mike Tidwell, on Friday, March 2, 2018, at 11:00AM. Burial will be held at Hilham Cemetery in Hilham, TN, following the service at 2:30PM. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 4:00PM-7:00PM.

Pallbearers will include family and friends.
