Mr. Charles "Chuck" Frank Simerka age 85, of Gallatin, TN, passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2019.
Mr. Simerka was born in Detroit, MI, on February 18, 1934, the son of the late Charles Igan Simerka and Barbara Terihay Simerka. He graduated from Henry Ford Trade High School and retired from Ford Motor Company as an industrial electrician after thirty-seven years. Mr. Simerka served in the United States Army. He was a parishioner at Saint John Vianney Catholic Church. Mr. Simerka was enthusiastic about the history of World War II and enjoyed putting model air planes and cars together.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Healey Simerka of sixty-two years; three children, Steven (Nicole) Simerka, Barbara (Steve Smith) Simerka, and Charles Simerka; three grandchildren, Keira, Sloan, and Steven; and a sister, Dorothy Brkich.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2019, at noon, Saint John Vianney Catholic Church with Father Gideon officiating.
Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Monday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and a rosary to follow at Hendersonville Funeral Home.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
