Charles Jackson "CJ" Hankins, Jr. Age 89 passed away April 15, 2014.

CJ has been a member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church for 21 years, as well as a member of the Fred Bracey Sunday School Class, The American Legion, and Gideons. CJ was instrumental in starting a chapter of the Tres Dias International (Middle TN Tres Dias). He was a kind & gentle man who loved God and Country. He served his country honorable in the United States Marine Corp in WWII. He was a retiree from Southern Bell Telephone after 39 years of service.

CJ is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years Jo Hankins; son, Charles Jackson Hankins, III; daughter, Carol Tague Hankins both of Deltona, FL; 2 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; 1 niece & nephew.

A Life Celebration will be held 12pm Saturday at Hendersonville First Baptist Church. Friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of his Monday Morning Breakfast Group. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-8pm Friday at funeral home & 1 hour prior to service Saturday at church. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hendersonville First Baptist Church Backpack Ministry.
