Charlene Ruth Hadley

Charlene Ruth Hadley, age 75, passed away on May 20, 2024.  She was born on May 27, 1948 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Charles and Ruth Gunkel.   Charlene is survived by her devoted husband of 55 years, James Hadley; children, Chris Hadley (Vicky) and Lori Hemmelgarn (Mike); grandchildren, Conner, Charlie, Carly, Ethan, Ellie, Audrey, Jake, and Zack.

Charlene was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati.   Jim and Charlene married and raised their family in Cincinnati before moving to Madison, Indiana in 1990.  They lived in Madison for 25 years before relocating to Goodlettsville, Tennessee.  Charlene was a member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville and a member of the Brown/Gaia/Massey Connect Group.  She was also a dedicated member with the Women’s Auxiliary Club of The Gideons.  Charlene was a music teacher and taught piano lessons for many years in her home.

Charlene enjoyed caring for her dogs.  She was a member of many Australian Shepherd clubs, including Nashville Dog Training and Australian Shepherd Breed Club.  Charlene’s proudest accomplishment was her beautiful family.   She was a terrific mother and wonderful wife.  Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, bringing light and love into her days. 

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. with a one hour visitation being held prior to the service at First Baptist Church of Hendersonville.  Burial will take place immediately following at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
