Carolyn Breakfield

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carolyn “Honey” Breakfield, cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Carolyn, aged 78, peacefully departed on August 2, 2024, in Hendersonville, TN.

Born and raised in Portland, Tennessee, Carolyn was a proud graduate of Portland High School. She pursued her passion for beauty by attending cosmetology school and opening her own salon. However, her greatest joy came when she chose to dedicate herself to her family, selling her salon to focus on being the best wife and mother.

Carolyn's life was a testament to love and selflessness. She found happiness in the simple pleasures of life -- Pepsi, shopping for great deals, long phone calls, and staying current with fashion and beauty trends. She never missed a sporting event, and some would say she was the loudest on the sideline. She cherished her trips to the casino with Bill “Bee” and was always thrilled if one of her children or grandchildren wanted to join in. She loved watching her grand-dog Piper and always tried to find ways to keep her longer. Holidays, especially Christmas, were a highlight of her year. She always filled her front room with tons of presents for her loved ones and found so much joy in watching everyone open them. Her warmth and friendliness were at the forefront. She never met a stranger, and always welcomed everyone as a friend.

Carolyn's Christian faith was a cornerstone of her life. She faithfully read a Bible verse each night and found strength from her belief through both joyous and challenging times.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her parents, Hussell and Elizabeth Pippin; her sister, Nancy Ann Pippin; and her son, Scott Breakfield. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Breakfield; her children, Kellie McGranaghan and Jason Breakfield (Ashley Rauch); and her sister, Joyce (William) High. She is also survived by Chad Morgan and Sean McGranaghan.

Her legacy lives on through her grandchildren, Lindsey (Jason Rardin) Morgan, Caleb (Kaleigh) Morgan, Isabella (Cary Cox) Morgan, Caden McGranaghan, Kellen McGranaghan, Ella (Blayne Douglas) McGranaghan, Sage McGranaghan, Aubrey Breakfield, Blair Breakfield, Eden Rauch, and Lyric Rauch. Her great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Dawson, Gatlin, Emmelee, Cara, Calum, Makenna, and Sadie will remember her with love and affection.

Carolyn's life was a beacon of kindness and devotion. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
