Carole Ann Keller

January 17, 1945 — December 31, 2023

Hendersonville

Carole Ann Korinek Keller, age 78, passed away peacefully in her sleep on December 31, 2023.  She was born on January 17, 1945, in Chicago, Illinois to the late Elynore and Robert Korinek.  Carole is also preceded in death by her husband Donald Keller.  She is survived by her 3 children Candace Keller, Sean Keller and Nicole Keller Baker (Carter); 4 grandchildren Aaron and Wesley Keller, Ellanore and Mary Kate Baker and her sister Roberta Anderson (Bruce).

Carole went to Morton East High School and Morton Junior College in Cicero, IL.  She met Don Keller, from Lancaster, PA in 1967 and they were married in May 1969. She was a pre-school teacher for many years at her parent’s day care center, Manor Day Nursery in Illinois. In 1985, Don, a mechanical engineer at AT&T, took a job opportunity in Nashville and Carole and Don relocated their family to Hendersonville, TN.  Carole had many interests and jobs throughout her lifetime; but volunteering and helping people and animals was where she was the most fulfilled. Carole spent many hours volunteering and caring for others at the Samaritan Center in Hendersonville, Love and Concern, Humane Shelter, Stephen Ministries, Young at Heart at Hendersonville First United Methodist and teaching young children to read at Project Transformation to name a few. Carole also loved to travel.  She and Don, along with many dear friends from the Gold Wings Rider Association traveled to 48 states and many Providences of Canada making many wonderful memories along the way. Carole was a true adventure seeker, living a vibrant and full life which continued after her beloved husband passed. Carole enjoyed her Red Hatter’s society, bunko and book clubs. Carole was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, opening her home for entertainment, or dropping her wonderful eats at neighbors.  Carole had a wonderful sense of humor, insatiable curiosity, the gift of gab with high emotional intelligence. It’s why her friends are so many, and why she is so missed. You could always count on Carole to lift your spirits or put a smile on your face. Carole believed in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her faith gave her compassion for others and joy no matter what she faced. Carole’s greatest love was for her children and grandchildren. She was affectionately called Grammy and she enchanted them with her antics. Young at heart, quick to laugh and always encouraging. Carole was an inspiration to all who loved her.

A special thank-you to Park Place. A place Carole loved as much as her own home. She loved the people who worked there and the people who resided there. Strong connections were made. The family will be forever grateful her time there was so meaningful, joyful and filled with love.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service immediately following at Hendersonville Funeral Home with Pastor Don Hutchison officiating.  After the service, all are welcome to join the family at Park Place Senior Living Community 31 Executive Park Drive Hendersonville, Tennessee for a reception to celebrate Carole’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Sumner County Humane Association, Grace Place Ministry for Women and Children, or Hendersonville Samaritan Association.
