Bruce Allen Johnson passed away peacefully at Columbus Medical Center - Midtown on Monday, September 14, 2015.

Bruce was born November 26, 1957, in Wurzburg, Germany. Son of Russell W. Johnson (Deceased) and Katharina (Katie) Johnson. Bruce was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked for the Federal Service for 30 years. For the last 19 years he worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Old Hickory, Tennessee. Bruce enjoyed spending time with his family and for the last 19 months, he was joyfully in love with his granddaughter. He was a part of the Hendersonville High School Marine Corps Junior ROTC (MCJROTC) for ten years and was proud that all three sons were involved in the organization. He enjoyed going to Raider and Drill meets to watch the competition and cheer on the teams. He was known for his skill in executing practical jokes. He loved watching Georgia football and was excited for the new season.

Survivors include his loving wife of 24 years, Irene Johnson, sons Ethan, Seth and Matthew, granddaughter Aubrie, his mother, Katie Johnson, his sister Cindy and her husband Eddie Hofstetter, his brother James and his wife Kelly Johnson, his sister-in-law Diana and her husband Paul Long. He is also survived by six nieces and nephews: Lydia and Russell Hofstetter, Jacob and Joshua Johnson and Corey and Erin Long.

Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 17, 2015, and Friday, September 18, 2015 from 1-2 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 East Main Street, Hendersonville, Tennessee. A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hendersonville High School MCJROTC at 123 Cherokee Road, Hendersonville, Tennessee, 37075.
