Bobby J. Templeton, Sr. passed on to his heavenly reward on September 22, 2016 at the age of seventy-six.
Born in Macon County, TN on January 16, 1940 to the late Thomas and Minnie Templeton, he was no stranger to hardship. At a young age he quickly assumed the role of caregiver when his father was crippled by a work-related accident. Bobby graduated high school but went to work to support his parents and brother. When recalling his memory it can certainly be said that family and friends were his top priority, and he made sure that they were loved. He regularly put the needs of others before his own and he considered helping people to be his talent. Listening to others and empathizing with their situations was another of his tremendous gifts. Though he would give advice, he did it with a kind and gentle heart. "It was just so easy to talk to him."
Oftentimes being frugal has a negative connotation; however, if there was something around the house Bobby could fix himself he'd do it to save on a service call. In his spare time he enjoyed reality television; especially, Survivor, Big Brother, Family Fued, and various court and home improvement shows. He always looked forward to visits from his beloved grandpup, Bayley and enjoyed every moment of canine companionship he could get. Bobby and Bayley had a special relationship and it seemed like they understood each other.
Routine was something that Bobby could always count on. His favorite places usually involved food, and who could blame him. He enjoyed Riley's Cafe, Bar-B-Cutie, Center Point BBQ, and Captain D's. Home cooking also had a special place in his heart. Whatever the meal, he'd wash it all down with an ice-cold R. C. Cola.
Bobby will live on forever in our hearts as a loving, caring, outgoing, and understanding man. From the time of his birth until his passing "he represented his dash well," and was a wonderful example for us all.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Minnie Templeton; and his brother, J.T. Templeton. Bobby leaves behind his sons, Bobby J. Templeton, Jr. and Ricky (Charlene) Templeton; his grandpup, Bayley; and many dear friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016 from 12 p.m.-1 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Bobby's Life at Center Point General Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Eulia General Baptist Cemetery in Westmoreland, TN.
