Age 81 of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on November 21, 2015 at his family's home. Bobby was born in Gates, TN, on December 24, 1933. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Lucy Johnson, brother, R.B., sisters, Lucille Daniels and Jane Martin, and granddaughter, Lacey.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ardith, of 62 years, daughters Karen Allred (Jonathan), Juliana Johnson, Amanda Bach (Randy), grandchildren, DeLayne and Jacob Allred, Nicholas Johnson, Rachel and Nathan Bach, brothers Wesley, Freddie, Gerald, Johnny, Michael, and sister Inita Locke.
Mr. Johnson retired from Ozburne Hessey Logistics in 1993. He was a very active person and loved to play any sport. He was especially fond of golf an enjoyed playing many years after retirement.
Bobby was a faithful member of Matthews Memorial Methodist Church for more than 64 years. He taught the Willing Workers SS Class for more than 40 years.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Visitation will continue from 11:00 a.m. until the noon service at Matthews Memorial United Methodist Church. Service will be officiated by Reverend Steven VanHooser.
Those serving as pallbearers are Gerald Johnson, Michael Johnson, Dr. Jonathan Allred, Randall Bach, Jacob Allred, and Nicholas Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are Johnny Johnson, Wesley Johnson, Fred Johnson, and Dan Locke.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Matthews Memorial United Methodist Church, 300 Anderson Lane, Madison, TN 37115.
Bobby was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and friend, who will be missed by all.
