Billy Ray Dabbs, 79 of Hendersonville, passed away on Sunday, April 4, 2021. Preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucille Ward Dabbs, brothers, Joe Dabbs and John Lewis Dabbs. Survived by his wife Hettie of 38 years, children, Sandie (Darren) Trammel, Brian Mallory, Michael Mallory (Teresa), David Mallory, grandchildren, Kaylee Borman (Anthony), Brittany Hansen (Patrick), Krissy Mallory, Dusty Mallory, Cody Mallory (Katrina), great-grandchildren, Brody, Henry and Denver, brother, Howard Dabbs (Betsy), sisters, Mary Jones (Billy Ray), Nancy Haywood (Gene), Sally Piercy and Bessie Duncan. Billy is also survived by many extended family and friends.

Billy was born on February 7, 1942 in Linden, TN to the late John and Lucille Ward Dabbs. He retired as a machine operator with MacMillan Bloedel Containers. He enjoyed watching NASCAR with Sterling Marlin being his favorite driver. He loved singing and listening to country music, fishing, playing poker and watching University of Tennessee football. He also made the best fish fry and hush puppies. Billy was a thoughtful, loving and kind man who was also a bit of a jokester. His favorite family gathering was the family reunion in Perry County on Father's Day.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 East Main Street in Hendersonville, on Saturday, April 24th at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow the service at Hendersonille Memory Gardens. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 23rd from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM, and again one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
