Bill Hillard of Hendersonville, TN passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018 in Hendersonville. Bill was born on May 18, 1934 in Huntington, WV. After his graduation from high school, Bill went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Navy before furthering his education, receiving 3 doctorate degrees. He was the dean of Volunteer State Community College, Gallatin, TN and AIMS College, Greeley, CO for over 30 years. Bill spent his entire life educating and helping people, MANY he didn't know, including helping the homeless and mentoring troubled youth. He was an incredibly compassionate man who gave so much to so many. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him. Bill is survived by his unofficially-adopted sons, Mark Fleming and Terry Moulton and the entire Fleming Family; niece, Peggy Braymen and nephew, Phil Santa Maria and his children, Todd C. Santa Maria & Carly Russell. A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Monday, July 9th, 10am at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St; Hendersonville, TN 37075), burial immediately following with military honors, Hendersonville Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Senior Citizens Center-Hendersonville, Weld Food Bank - Greely, CO or donate to help your local homeless population or any organization assisting with troubled youth. www.hendersonvillefh.com
