Betty Kent

Betty Sue Dutton Kent, age 89, of Portland passed away on December 24, 2024. Betty was born to the late Ernest and Julia Dutton on July 4, 1935.

Betty enjoyed gardening and traveling. She was happiest when spending time with her family.

Most of all, Betty loved the Lord and enjoyed attending church. She attended Bible Baptist in Hendersonville for over 30 years and Faith Promise Baptist in Portland for over 20 years. 

Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Ray J. Kent; her son in law, Paul Orebaugh; her great granddaughter, Faith Kent; and her siblings. 

Betty is survived by her children, Beverly Robson (Ken), Danny Kent (Cynthia), Sandra Felts (Troy), Connie Green (Jimmy), and Tommy Kent (Melanie); her grandchildren, Crystal Felts, Ashley Long, Amber Crews, Joshua Kent, Justin Felts, Jeremy Felts, Racheal Harper, Kayla Kent, Bryce Kent, Chase Kent, and Caitlyn Kent; and her 17 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Betty will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main Street, Hendersonville, Tennessee 37075) and again on Saturday, December 28, 2024 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. The funeral service for Betty will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024 at 11:00 am at Hendersonville Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Betty’s grandsons and great grandsons.
