Betty Johnson Hobgood Born 11/28/29 went to be with the Lord 9/11/18. Betty grew up in East Nashville where she attended East High School, (Class of 47). She and her family were members of Hobson United Methodist Church which is where she met her husband of 55 years James R. Hobgood.

Betty worked at Levy's Men's Clothing Store for over 30 years. When her husband went into the ministry, they were appointed to Barth Vernon and 61st Ave. Churches where they served for 10 years till his retirement.

Betty enjoyed entertaining, camping with her family, and sewing. She was a strong Christian and loved studying her bible and going to Women's Bible Studies. She was very active in her Church, both Dalewood Methodist and presently First United Methodist Church, Hendersonville.

Betty is preceded in death by her loving husband, James Roy Hobgood, her parents John Gowan Johnson and Ethel Odom Johnson. Her two brothers Gowan and Phil Johnson and sister in law Allison Johnson.

She is survived by her son, Gordon Hobgood (Teresa); daughter Heather Patton (David); Grandchildren Katherine Patton Brewer (Alan), Hannah Patton Mahon (Seth), Seth Hobgood (Ami), Caleb Hobgood (Lydia) and Logan Hobgood, Jennifer Young, Nathan Young (Melody), Candice Parker (Justin), and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation is Sunday 2-8 p.m. and Monday 9-11 a.m., Service Monday at 11a.m. all at Hendersonville Memory Gardens and Funeral Home. Burial will be at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Pegram TN.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hymnal fund, or "Young at Heart" at First United Methodist Church, 217 East Main Street, Hendersonville TN 37075
