Betty Lile Ellis- age 86 of Hendersonville, TN, was born to the late John and Thelma Lile on January 8, 1928 and passed away peacefully on May 25, 2014.
Betty was a longtime member of Hendersonville First united Methodist Church. She loved to cook and play cards, but most of all she loved her grandchildren, whom lovingly knew her as "MeMe".
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Ellis; granddaughter, Lauren Gaughan, and son-in-law, C.L. "Buck" Rogers.
Betty is survived by her loving daughters, Lile Rogers, Lu Smith (Greg) and Lindy Gaughan (Mike); grandchildren, Jake Smith (Caroline), Katie Smith, Allie Benton (Chris), Mary Kathryn Oliver (Nathan), Jack and Alex Gaughan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Hendersonville First United Methodist Church in Betty's Memory.
A life celebration service will be held at 1p.m. on Thursday at the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church. Active Pallbearers are Drew Maddux, Vincent Holley W. C. "Fig" Newton, John Benson & Jim Pelligrino. Honorary pallbearers are members of Followers Sunday School Class.
