Betty S. Crecelius, 79, of Hendersonville, passed away with her family by her side on Thursday, April 30, 2020. Preceded in death by her parents; Charles H. and Gradi M. Smith (Colwell), sister Frances Williams. Survived by her husband Ray, of 62 years, children; Cindy (Mike) Woodall and Stephen Crecelius, grandchildren; Kaylee Woodall (fiancée Noah Mayberry), Michael Woodall, Landon Crecelius, Emma Crecelius, brother, James H. Smith (Annie) and sister, Jessie Napier, along with many extended family and friends.
Betty was born on May 15, 1940 in Nashville. She graduated in 1958 from Hume-Fogg High School. She retired as a public utilities lead clerk with the City of Gallatin. Betty was a long time member of Hendersonville First Baptist Church where she volunteered for many church related programs. She was passionate about raising her family, was a good cook and enjoyed having her family together for every holiday and birthday. Betty was a loving wife and grandmother who was very kind and selfless.
A private family gathering will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 5th, 2020. Betty will be laid to rest at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Friends are invited to sign the online guest book at www.hendersonvillefh.com.
