Betty Jo Carmody age 69 of Hendersonville, passed away on September 23, 2017 at Skyline Madison Campus.

She was born on February 24, 1948 in Norway, Michigan.

Mrs. Carmody was described as loving, outspoken at times and full of life. She enjoyed making everyone around her laugh even complete strangers in the grocery story. She would say, "You need at least one customer a day like me" just to put a smile on their face.

Her Lord and Savior was the center of her life along with her husband and children. She enjoyed baking Apple Pies, watching Gone with the Wind and trips to see her girls in Illinois.

She will forever be remember as a devoted Wife to her husband, Mom to her daughter and "Maw" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Carmody is preceded in death by her father, Howard Dana Elam and sisters, Patsy Newman and Toni Schroeter.

She is survived by her husband, George J. Carmody; children, Tracie Hudson, Denise (Gaylon) McMahan, Jani (Scott) Fraim, Dana Carmody, and Rhonda (Ralph) Beard; 15 grandchildren and 5 grandchildren.

A Life Celebration will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Hendersonville Memorial Gardens with friends and family serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, September 25th from 4-8pm then again on Tuesday from 9am until the time of service at the funeral home.
