Bertha Terry

A loving and caring woman known as wife, mother, and grandmother was embraced in the arms of Our Lord as she passed from this life peacefully on July 27, 2016 at the age of 89.

Bertha dedicated herself to caring for her family as a homemaker. She managed to maintain a neat and orderly home for her husband and their six children. Her care in this way was one outward manifestation of her love. Bertha's husband, Chuck, had a career with the FAA, which resulted in many moves. She was a woman who managed to relocate her family and get them settled with grace. Aside from her duties as wife, mother, and homemaker, Bertha enjoyed many things.

Music held a special place in Bertha's heart, she sang, played piano, and as a child, she even played accordion and violin. Closely related to music, dancing was a passion she shared with her husband. They were members of Happy Squares and would go to various venues to square dance. They never had a dull moment dancing together.

Bertha enjoyed summer vacations in Michigan where the beauty of the outdoors, fish fries, boating, and family were the primary attractions. Togetherness was always the goal and Thanksgiving dinners were no exception. Bertha was thankful and expressed this in her love of the Lord as a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Reflecting on her involvement, she loved to be active in the Women's Circles and the Choir.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Agda Grove; and her beloved husband of 60 years, Charles F. Terry, who Bertha lovingly referred to as "Floyd." Bertha leaves behind a wonderful legacy which she was most proud of, her family; daughters, Jan (Bob) Browning, Karen (Bob) Milam, Sheryl (Dick) Seitz, and Donna (Ken) Larson; sons, Alan Terry, and Scott (Julie) Terry; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and the most recent addition to the family, a great-granddaughter, is due to arrive within the next month.
