Bernice passed on March 26 leaving her family in a mournful state for a very long time to come. Born in the coal country of West Virginia in the Litwar "Holler" near the town of Iaeger. She was a family of twelve and at the age of eighteen, she left the coal country to start her own personal journey on Earth.

A very hard worker, a believer in the Lord and family, a hater of technology, and had an overwhelming love for children.

She and her husband, Orville Weber, raised five children starting in California and landed in South Dakota, and then retirement in Tennessee.

Bernice did not roll well when the "phone-in-hand" era appeared. Always commenting or challenging people at the restaurants, jay walkers, "driving with the phone attached to their head" was her most repeated phrase while riding in the car. Nevertheless, after the death of our mother, she was the conduit that kept her siblings together although they were spread around the country. She would always call each and everyone of them often to see how they and their families were doing.

Being a Christian was a major part of her life. Sometimes, I would say, "I don't know what happens to me when I die." And she again and consistently, would say, "Well I know." She and I often would travel to West Virginia to visit our brother, Carl, who was bedridden for about 10 years. After an eight hour drive and arriving home safely, she would say, "Thank you Lord." I responded once, how about, "Thank you, Jenny." Her response would always be that I could have not done it without the Lord's blessings.

Her life was long and consisted of laughter, sad times, hard work and most of all the joy of her grandchildren. Every meeting, every phone call would entail her giving them a lecture-be good, mind your Mom, be kind to all. I hope that all children in Bernice's life will "shuffle" off the continuous advice but forever remember just how much she adored them.
