Mrs. Bernice Louise Hassencahl age 80, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2019.

Mrs. Hassencahl was born in Rutland, VT, on July 30, 1938, the daughter of the late Leon Severance and Ethelyn Chase Severance. She was a member of Hendersonville Seventh-day Adventist Church and retired after many years of being a nurse. Mrs. Hassencahl enjoyed writing cards, traveling, gardening, bird watching, and dogs. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hassencahl was preceded in death by her husband, John Hassencahl; a grandson, Andrew John Lopes; and a sister, Joyce Severance.

Survivors include her two sons, John Hassencahl and Don (Angie) Hassencahl; a daughter, Janice Lopes; grandchildren, Lacey Hassencahl, Katelyn (Bret) Williams, William Hassencahl, Alexandra Hassencahl, Morgan Hassencahl, Mikayla Wilkerson, Cassandra (Chris) Hall, Dr. Christopher Lopes, Emily Lopes, and Geoffrey Lopes; and two brothers, Wayne (Joan) Severance and Wendell (Donna) Severance.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 2:00 P.M., Hendersonville Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.

Gathering of Family & Friends will be held Friday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Hendersonville Funeral Home.
