Barbara Meece

MEECE, Barbara Louise Hillis – Age 72 of Hendersonville passed away May 27, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Meece was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, friend & caregiver. She worked at K-Mart retiring after 20 years. She loved kids and after her retirement worked for Hendersonville First Baptist Church with the preschool program. She was a truly blessed woman that will be dearly missed. Preceded in death by parents, Maureen Thompson & Clifford "Big Daddy" Thompson; brother, Morris Hillis Judy. Survived by her sons, Scott Meece Kristin & Mark Meece; grandchildren, Shana Alford, Courtney Meece, Lesleigh Meece, & Hannah Meece; great-grandson, Skyler Alford; sisters, Janice Gillihan, Betty Thompson & Shirley Atnip; several extended family members, friends, neighbors & her K-Mart Gang. A Life Celebration will be held 11am Friday at Hendersonville Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Hendersonville Memory Gardens. Visitation will be 2-8pm Thursday & 9-11am Friday at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital, The 700 Club, or Jesus Reigns Fellowship.
