Atein Engel, age 17, of Hendersonville was uplifted in heaven with his grandpa, David Phillips along with his great grandma and grandpa Ragland on Friday, June 22nd 2018.
Atein was the most amazing and loving son, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend. He never met a stranger and took very good care of the people he loved.
Atein is remembered for being strong and protective of his family. He was a great uncle to his nieces and nephew and loved spending time with his family and friends. Atein loved playing soccer, taking road trips, rap music, and his mama's cooking. Atein attended Aaron Christian Academy of Hendersonville and would have been starting his senior year.
Atein is survived by his mother, Brooke Engel Lee; sister, Aravon Jordan; sister, Angeles Engel; nieces Graylin and Eloise Webster; nephew, Kasen Jackson; grandma Lesly Phillips; great grandma, Carmen Card; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; and his beloved pit bull Brasi.
The family will welcome friends Friday, June 29th from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday June 30th from 9-11 a.m. at Hendersonville Funeral Home. A celebration of life funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 30th in the chapel of Hendersonville Funeral Home with Uncle Mark Kelly speaking. Interment will follow the garden of the Cross Hendersonville Memory Gardens. In Lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at First Tennessee Bank of Sumner County in Atein's name.
