Andani Prakash

PRAKASH, Andani S., Age 64 of Brentwood, TN, passed away January 16, 2010. Dr. Prakash was born in Mysore, Karnataka State in India. He immigrated to Canada in 1971 and then to Nashville, TN in 1972. He was a professor at Meharry Medical College. Dr. Prakash moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1975 to pursue a residency in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. In 1979, he moved to Washington, DC to serve as a Major at the Walter Reed Medical Center where he often treated foreign dignitaries from all over the world. In 1982, Dr. Prakash moved back to Tennessee to pursue private practice at Summit Medical Center. He retired in 2002. Dr. Prakash lived his life to the fullest. He enjoyed time with friends, travel, the arts, reading and collecting Indian art. Dr. Prakash is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lalitha Prakash, and his siblings and their families who currently reside in India. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sri Ganesha Temple, 521 Old Hickory Blvd, Nashville, TN 37209-5105.
