Alma Ruth Padgett, 74, of Hermitage, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Anna Mae Parish Howard, brothers; David Howard, William “Eddie” Moore, Donald Robert Moore, Jack Allen Webster, half-brothers, James Hedger Moore Jr. and Claude R. Moore. Alma is survived by her children; Susan Padgett Rolley (Bruce), Melisia Padgett Robins, Dennis Martin Padgett (Gina) and Michael Scott Padgett (Dezerae), grandchildren; Kristan, Dylan, Dustin, Micayla, Raven, Lauren, Bella, Sophia, Alyssa, and one great-grandchild on the way, Mason. Alma is also survived by her brother, Jerry “JJ” Johnson, sister, Scarlet Wainscott, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends, and her African Gray Bird “Dominique.”
Alma was born on October 27, 1946 in Kentucky. She worked as a hairdresser and was the owner of the Golden Comb in Morganfield, Kentucky for 20 years. She also was a hairdresser at Dillards from 1989 until they closed and also worked as a cashier at Home Depot up until her time of passing. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting and driving her Mitsubishi 3000 GT. Alma was a beautiful and strong mother of 4. She was hard working and honest to a fault. She could light up a room and never met a stranger. She enjoyed getting together with her family for all holidays and birthdays. Alma will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A Celebration of Life service for Alma will be held at Hendersonville Funeral Home, 353 East Main Street in Hendersonville, on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 3:00 PM. Gathering for family and friends will begin at 12:00 PM.
