It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Allison Shealy Wolhaupter, of Hendersonville, Tennessee, who passed away on April 21, 2024 at the age of 65 due to kidney failure.
Allison was born on April 15, 1959 to Erskine Taylor and Jean G Shealy. Allison graduated from Hendersonville High School and UT Knoxville with a degree in teaching. She loved teaching and her students and they loved her. She had an impact of hundreds of young lives. She was the director at City Road Child Care, taught at Jack Anderson Elementary, Sumner Academy and The Edison School. She also was involved ith the youth at her church as a Sunday School teacher, Bible school teacher and mentor.
She was a loving daughter, wife, sister and had many great friends. She loved to read, volunteer and escape to a great beach or the mountains.
She was preceded in death by her father, Erskine Taylor Shealy.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Wolhaupter; mother, Jean Shealy; sister, Ann Shealy Lay (Allen); sisters-in-law, Judy Martin (Jeff) of New York and Pat Randall (Ralph) of Dickson, Tennessee; 7 nieces and nephews,13 great nieces and nephews; 1 great-great nephew and many other relatives. We will all miss her dearly but, know that she is in a better place.
Visitation will be held at Hendersonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Monday May 6, 2024 at 1:00 with a Celebration of Life service at 2:00.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to The Edison School 610 W. Old Hickory Blvd. Madison TN 37115.
