Albert Jaynes of Hendersonville, TN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in Madison, TN. Al was born June 5, 1935 in Nashville, TN to the late Ralph and Cleta Jaynes. After graduating high school, Al went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army and the United States Marine Corps. After his military service, Al started his career in law enforcement that spanned over 35 years, starting with the Davidson County Sheriff's Department, continuing on to the Nashville Police Department and finishing his distinguished career as a Sergeant with the Metro Nashville Police Department. Spending nearly his whole life in a uniform, Al will be remembered by all who knew him as a man of great strength who was in all aspects of his life, honest and loyal. In his spare time, Al enjoyed golf and hitting the slots at the casino. On January 13, 1979 Al was united in marriage to his loving and devoted wife of over 39 years, Shirley Jaynes, who survives. Also surviving are 2 children, Thomas (Julie) Pipkin and Tony (Kimberly) Pipkin; 3 grandchildren; siblings, Evelyn Keeling, Rick (Connie) Jaynes and Cathy (Phil) Hester. Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 4th from 4-6pm at Hendersonville Funeral Home (353 E. Main St; Hendersonville, TN 37075) and again on Monday, March 5th from 1-2pm with funeral services following at 2pm. Interment will immediately follow the service with full military honors at Hendersonville Memory Gardens.
